Nano Nagle Centre Official Opening

On Sunday 8 July 2007, the Nano Nagle Centre for Heritage, Spirituality and Ecology, based at Nano's birthplace in Ballygriffin, Co. Cork was officially opened following extensive refurbishment, drawing phase four of its development to a close. The Centre was established by the Central Leadership Team of the Union of Presentation Sisters.

Image The Nano Nagle Centre is a living heritage centre, inspired by and continuing on the work of Nano Nagle, foundress of the Presentation Sisters. While nothing now remains of the house in which she was born and spent her earliest years, the Nano Nagle Centre is however situated in the very homestead where she grew up, These same surroundings helped to create Nano’s serenely courageous spirit.

Nano Nagle cared deeply for the dignity of all people. In a world where the sense of belonging is fragile and fragmented, where affluence and poverty contribute to the erosion of human values, to division in society and to the depletion of earth's resources, the Nano Nagle Centre offers an opportunity to young and old to experience the wholeness and interconnectedness of life.
