Seminars on Eucharist

Frank Andersen’s coming to Ireland by invitation of The Presentation Sisters was the culmination of a year’s study, reflection and discussion on the importance of Eucharist in our lives.  Making The Eucharist Matter, a book written by Fr. Andersen m.s.c. in 1999, exploring the mystery hidden within the ritual of Sunday Mass was one of books used by individual Sisters and Communities to deepen our understanding and enrich our participation.

Three Seminars were held over two weekends in November which facilitated over three hundred Sisters from all parts of the country.

Frank Andersen is an engaging speaker who in the words of one person who attended “ speaks Eucharist by his very being.”   His unique and very original style of presentation was poetic, musical and above all very challenging.

ImageSisters came away with beautiful images of a God with a heart of tenderness and who is loyal, committed and faithful to the covenant made with the people. Jesus made this God known in His day.  The formation of a faith community in our day, one that reflects the tenderness and loyalty of our God will cost all of us not less than everything.

The experience at each seminar gave each one who attended a deep and rich experience of what is at the heart of our Sunday Eucharist.  The challenges could be summarised as:

  • Commitment to our promises,
  • Loyalty to one another and
  • Affection and tenderness to all.
