Jubilation at Presentation Jubilee

Celebrating their Jubilee are Srs. Annunciata (US), Maureen, Assumpta and Margaret. Also in the picture are Srs. Annette, Mary, Áine and Anna. This was the headline headline for an article in the Westmeath  Examiner on the celebrations which marked the golden jubilee celebrations of Scoil na Maighdine Mhuire, Mullingar. Other occasions being marked were the retirement of Sr. Ann Pender and the  jubilees of four Sisters who were professed in Mullingar sixty years ago.

On the occasion of the retirement of Sr. Ann Pender after 40 years spent in the class-room another historic occasion was recalled. In his tribute to Sr. Ann, who had spent the past ten years teaching in Scoil na Maighdine Mhuire, Fr. Crosbie, chairperson of the Board of Management of the school, recalled the 181-year-old link between Presentation Sisters and education in Mullingar.
