Guide to the Lisbon Treaty

ImageAt the request of Presentation Sisters at a recent meeting, Clare Herbert, a third-year student at NUIM, Maynooth has produced a Guide to the Lisbon Treaty. While the views expressed in the guide are her own, the guide strives to present an objective summary of the issues involved so that Sisters and friends of Nano can be better informed when deciding how to vote in the referendum on 12 June 2008.

The document is attached and can be opened by clicking here. You have the option to save it on to your own computer, if you wish to do so.

The Referendum Commission is an independent body set up under Irish legislation to ensure that citizens are provided with impartial information about the issues involved in the forthcoming referendum. Their website can be accessed by clicking here.

Independent advice is also available from the Forum on Europe website.

You can also check the register of electors for your county to ensure you are registered to vote. If the link does not work , check the register through your own County Council website.

Many thanks to Clare for undertaking this daunting task. We wish her every success in her final exams!
