The Education Office of the Northern Province today handed over their files on their voluntary secondary schools to CEIST.

The exercise of trusteeship of all Presentation voluntary secondary schools in Ireland now falls to CEIST, which is a joint venture with the Mercy Sisters, the Sisters of the Christian Retreat, the Daughters of Charity and the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart.

The Northern Province was represented by Sr. Elizabeth Maxwell, Sr. Evelyn Byrne, Mr. Noel Keating and Office Staff Valerie Melia and Jenny Murphy. CEIST was represented by Mr. Ned Prendergast, Mr. Mike Higgins,  Ms. Margaret Farrell, Mr. Tom Loughnane, Mr. John Woods, Ms. Bernadette McKeown and the Office Staff of CEIST.

The boxes of files were handed over and after coffee and cakes a short Prayer Service was conducted. Sr. Elizabeth spoke briefly about the long tradition of the Presentation Congregation in secondary education and of her faith in the capacity of CEIST to faithfully carry on the work.
