Climate Change - Umbrellas in June?

Stop Climate Chaos is a coalition of civil society organizations campaigning to ensure Ireland plays its part in preventing runaway climate change. To heighten awareness of its objectives, it has organised an Umbrella Action Day which takes place at the Martello Tower on Sandymount Strand in Dublin on Sunday, 15th June at 3pm. This is the second such day. Last year, with a sea of dancing umbrellas on a sunny day, the new Dáil and the incoming Government was pressed to take climate change seriously. This year the message is to start reducing Ireland's outsized carbon footprint by seeking that the Government puts a clear, fair, price on carbon across the whole economy.

The organisers, Stop Climate Chaos, advise that a leaflet will be available which will graphically illustrate Ireland's record on greenhouse gas emissions compared with that of other countries. They invite you  to come along to Sandymount Strand on Sunday, June 15th at 3 p.m. Join the picnic for the planet and bring the kids, there'll be face-painting and wildlife surveys.

And don't forget to BYOB - bring your own brolly!
